How to compare funeral insurance?
Comparing funeral insurance starts with establishing your preferences. What type of insurance suits you? How much do you want to be insured for? With our comparison tool you can easily filter on price, type, waiting period and features. Find the right insurance in just a few minutes.
Types of funeral insurance
In-kind insurance
With in-kind insurance, the funeral services -such as coffin, hearse and care -are provided in kind by the insurer. Your loved ones don't have to arrange anything.
Capital insurance
Capital insurance pays a fixed cash amount to your loved ones. They can spend this amount freely on the funeral, but also on other costs that arise after a death.
Combined insurance
Combined insurance offers the best of both worlds: part in kind (services) and part as a cash amount. This gives your loved ones both practical help and financial flexibility.
What to look for when comparing?
Waiting period
Some insurers have a waiting period of 12 or 24 months. If death occurs within this period, often only the paid premiums are refunded.
Acceptance age
Each insurer has a minimum and maximum age for acceptance. Most insurers accept applications up to age 75-85.
Premium-free age
With many policies you stop paying at a certain age (often 65), but remain fully insured.
Indexation
With indexation your insured amount grows with inflation. This prevents your coverage from becoming insufficient over the years.

Frequently asked questions about comparing
How does Eindstation.nl compare insurers?
We collect all publicly available information about funeral insurance in the Netherlands: premiums, coverage, conditions and reviews. This data is updated monthly and presented in our comparison tool.
Is the comparison truly independent?
Yes. No insurer pays for a higher position. The order is determined by objective criteria. We do receive a commission when you take out insurance through our site, but this does not influence the ranking.
How often are premiums updated?
We check and update premiums and conditions monthly. Always verify the most current premium with the insurer before taking out a policy.
Can I take out insurance directly through Eindstation.nl?
No, you take out insurance through the insurer's own website. We redirect you to the provider via our comparison links.
What is the difference between in-kind and capital?
With in-kind insurance, the funeral services are arranged by the insurer. With capital insurance, loved ones receive a cash amount to arrange the funeral themselves. Combined insurance offers both options.
